Planning continues for the upcoming ORCIA conference with several key items discussed:

  • The primary goal is to gather the remaining conference information and submit the completed proposal to the CIB.

  • Kelly Parker has agreed to be a featured speaker for a $500 speaking fee and is available to present on a variety of inspection-related topics.

  • The proposed venue is The Guthrie Meridian, which offers an excellent presentation environment, two large projection screens, early access for setup, and a rental cost of $500.

Artificial Intelligence in Home Inspections

A significant portion of the meeting focused on the growing role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) within the home inspection industry.

Topics included:

  • Demonstrations of AI being used to analyze inspection photos and assist inspectors in identifying potential issues.

  • Discussion about developing similar AI-powered tools and the challenges surrounding software development and patent protection.

  • Recognition that AI has the potential to streamline the inspection process by helping inspectors organize information, generate reports, and improve efficiency.

While AI continues to evolve, members agreed that it should serve as a tool to assist inspectors—not replace professional judgment.
